LAYING IT
✦ A pile has a direction. Run your hand along one mat and it feels smooth one way and rough the other.
✦ Lay every mat with the pile running the same way and the whole flight reads as one shade from the bottom of the stairs.
✦ Turn one the other way and it looks half a tone darker than its neighbours. That is the most common reason a set looks uneven in photos.

HOW TO FIT
✦ Double sided carpet tape or tread grippers hold each mat in place, sold separately at any hardware shop.
✦ Leave a little bare wood showing on each side and keep the mat back from the front lip of the step.
✦ Measure the depth and the width of your step before ordering.

CARE
✦ Vacuum regularly without a beater bar
✦ Spot clean with a damp cloth, do not soak
✦ Keep dry and air dry flat
✦ Use a rug pad underneath on floors

NOTES
1. Every mat is made by hand, so ripple lines and colour order shift a little from piece to piece. That variation is the mark of handwork, not a fault.
2. A little loose fibre in the first few weeks is normal. Trim any strand that stands proud, never pull it.
3. The pattern is on the top face, so lay each mat with this side up.
4. Duty and taxes are already paid by us. Nothing more to pay on delivery.
